Terms and conditions
Last updated: 6 October 2026
1. Who we are
The “Clay” service (the “Service”) is operated by:
Tenue Services SRL
Clay is a tool that lets you create AI agents on your Mac, call or text them from your phone and give them tasks. The Service consists of the Clay app for macOS, the Clay app for Android and this website (the clay.tenue.one relay, which connects your phone to your Mac and authenticates users through Tenue ID).
2. Account and devices
- You sign in with a Tenue ID account. You are responsible for the security of your account and of the devices you are signed in on.
- An account can have any number of Macs and one signed-in phone; signing in on a second phone signs the first one out automatically.
- You can sign a device out at any time from the app or from your account page.
- You must have the rights needed to use the computer and the Claude account you connect.
3. Acceptable use
You agree to use the Service lawfully, in good faith and without harming its operation or security. In particular you must not:
- attempt unauthorised access to other people's accounts, devices or data;
- use the Service for malware, spam, fraud, harassment or any illegal activity;
- overload the relay, bypass limits or reverse-engineer the protocol to harm other users;
- let third parties use your account without our consent.
4. AI tool. No professional advice
- Clay agents use artificial intelligence models (Claude, through your own account and subscription). Answers and actions can be wrong, incomplete or unexpected.
- Clay is not a substitute for legal, medical, financial, tax or other professional advice. Check results before relying on them.
- Your requests to models are sent by your computer to the model provider under your own agreement with it; Tenue Services does not receive or store them.
5. Your responsibility for what agents do
- Agents run on your computer and can read, create or change files, run commands and use the internet within the permissions you grant.
- Actions beyond an agent's ordinary permissions (for example shell commands, opening apps, downloads, writing files) require your confirmation with your fingerprint or PIN on your phone. By confirming you authorise the action and accept its outcome.
- “Autonomous” and “autopilot” modes let agents work unattended. You enable them at your own risk; we recommend backups and separate working folders.
- You are responsible for the content you process with agents and for complying with the law and third-party rights.
6. Availability and updates
We make reasonable efforts to keep the relay available but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. We may update, change or temporarily suspend the Service (for example for maintenance). The apps can update themselves; Mac updates are digitally signed and verified before installation.
7. Third-party services and components
Sign-in uses Tenue ID and AI models are provided by third parties (for example Anthropic) under their own terms. We are not responsible for third-party services.
8. Intellectual property
The Clay apps, design, texts and graphics belong to Tenue Services SRL or its licensors. You receive a personal, non-exclusive, revocable licence to use them under these terms. Your content and your agents' outputs remain yours.
9. Limitation of liability
The Service is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law we are not liable for indirect damages, loss of profit or data, or losses resulting from agent actions or AI model errors. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount paid for the Service in the last 12 months (zero if the Service was free), except where the law does not allow limitation (for example wilful misconduct or gross negligence). Nothing in these terms limits consumers' statutory rights.
10. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close an account that violates these terms or endangers the security of the Service. You may stop using the Service at any time and may request deletion of your account data (see the Privacy policy).
11. Personal data and cookies
Processing of personal data is described in the Privacy policy and cookies in the Cookie policy.
12. Governing law and disputes
Any disagreement is first settled amicably. Failing that, the competent Romanian courts decide and Romanian law applies. Consumers may use alternative dispute resolution (SAL) and ANPC (see Legal information); mandatory consumer-protection rules remain applicable.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms; the version in force is the one published here, with the last-updated date shown above. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept it.
